The research aims to identify the effectiveness of a strategy IER in life skills and chemical enlightenment among the fourth science students in the subject of chemistry.

The research community was determined from the secondary schools of the Baghdad-Rusafa Education Directorate -3 for the academic year 2018 – 2019 with first study courseThe research sample was intentionally chosen from the fourth-grade scientific students in the Al-Waritheen secondary school.

The number of students in the sample after excluding those who failed, reached (52) students to be (26) students.

The two groups were equivalent in some variants.

As for the research tools, the researcher prepared a life skills scale consisting of (65) items divided into skills, and a scale of chemical enlightenment consisting of (50) items distributed in three domains The validity and reliability of the two measurements were verified, and after the end of the experiment, the statistical data were processed.

The results of the research showed that adopting a strategy of (IRE) has positive effectiveness in life skills and chemical development in chemistry.

Accordingly, the researcher put forward a number of proposals and recommendations related to the results of the research
