Abstract EN

This study investigates the diary of King Faisal bin Al Hussein (1883-1933), which he wrote in London, and while he was on board the ship "Malo" on his way to take the throne of Iraq.

The manuscript is one of the rare texts written by Faisal.

He described his experience while he was in the West negotiating the future of the region, and the arrangements of the governance of Transjordan.

In these diaries that he wrote on intermittent periods, Faisal bin al Hussein presents an assessment of his experience when he ruled Syria, presents his views on the Syrian elite that was in power with him, and describes the nature of the crisis he faced after the imposition of the French mandate on Syria.

He also describes the efforts that he and his entourage made in the West to restore his role in Iraq, to arrange for the placement of his brother Abdullah as governor of Transjordan, and to convince his father Sharif Hussein of that settlement decided by the Cairo Conference 1921.
