Abstract EN

The research aims to study the function of the verbal noun as a verb in the divan of Ibn Darraj Al- Qastalli, in particular, its tenses and status, according to the acoustic and analogic linguistic rules.

The research uses Quranic and poetic evidence and Arab sayings, and discovers the verses of the divan which contain verbal nouns in light of those evidences and grammarians’ views in the issue of the function of the verbal noun.

The research includes a foreword that provides a definition of verbal noun and differentiates it from noun and verb in addition to its position in parsing.
