Nowadays, teaching English has departed from employing the classical method of teaching into the wide range of teaching and learning activities provided by current modern teaching approaches such as cooperative learning in which learners work in small inside classroom .The present study aims at utilizing Round-table strategy ,as one of the cooperative learning approach or technique , in teaching speaking and the effect it bring to this productive activity.

The participants of this paper is 2nd stage English language students at ‘University of Baghdad’, College of Education for Humanities - (Ibn Rushd).The instrument utilized is A close-end test.

Results show that CL is an excellent teaching approach because it allows students to think climactically without depending on you for answers
