Abstract EN

Literature is a beautiful expression.

there are perceptions that say Arabic literature is difficult.

therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the difference between the use of mind map and conventional methods on student achievements in Arabic literature.

there are two tests run; ie pre-test with conventional teaching, while posttest using mind map.

the respondents of this study were 89 students in Year 3 Arabic program who enrolled in BAS3133 course in semester 1, 2017 / 2018.

descriptive analysis approach was used to analyze data with social package for the social sciences (SPSS) software.

the study found differences in student achievement in both tests.

the mean obtained in test 2 was 64.5, increasing 32.3 from the mean of test 1.

in conclusion, the use of mind maps can enhance student achievement.

as a result, negative perceptions on Arabic literature can be eliminated.

It is hoped that more studies on the method of teaching Arabic literature will become available in the future.
