Abstract EN

The current study aimed to examining the effectiveness of a counseling program based on the selective direction in developing communication skills of a sample of delinquent juveniles in the Sultanate of Oman.

The study adopted the quasi-experimental approach, and the study population consisted of all juvenile juveniles in the Juvenile Correction Center at the Central Prison in the Governorate of Sumail, during The year 2019 CE, whose number is (30) delinquent juveniles, is among males between the ages of (13-17) years, and the researcher developed a communication skills scale and built a group counseling program based on the selective direction, and the validity and stability of both the scale and the program were confirmed.

It was found c A positive impact was found in the communication skills of the experimental group of juveniles, as their observations included an improvement in the speaking style, the way of listening and listening, and not boycotting others, in addition to the decrease in unwanted behaviors, such as aggression and violence when expressing an opinion, and the members of the guiding group confirmed their benefit from the sessions.

That focused on training in developing communication skills, and the study recommended the application of the counseling program and its effectiveness in other similar groups, such as the orphans category, and the children who are abused to them .
