Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to identify Parenting style of foster parents on the behavior problems of foster children.

The sample consist of 94 foster mothers who agree to participate in the study.

To answer the study main question, Godman scale Strength and Difficulty Questioner (SDQ) and the Parental Style Questioner (PSQ) are used.

The result showed, the most common parental style is Authoritative, Authoritarian and Permissive style respectively.

In general, no major behavioral problem was detected in all three parental styles.

However, we did find negative correlation between Authoritative parental style and conductive problem in children, as more Authoritative style been used as less conductive problem in children is detected.

Also, we found that children with Authoritarian mother will have less conductive problem and less hyperactivity.

No statistical correlation between Permissive parental style and behavioral problem was detected.

And no statistical different in parental treatment to boys and girls.

However boys did show statistical more conducting problem compared to girls, but in term of prosocial behavior, girls score better than boys.
