Abstract EN

This study aimed at exploring the methods and techniques used by elementary grades' teachers in teaching the Glorious Qur’an in schools of the Department of Education in the Aseer.

The study attempted to answer the following main question: How do elementary school teachers teach the Glorious Qur’an? The researchers used the qualitative approach for its relevance to the nature of the research.

Observation, interviews and document analysis were used as instruments of the study because of their suitability to the objectives of the study in exploring the teaching methods and techniques used by elementary grades' teachers in teaching the Glorious Qur’an.

The population of the study consisted of teachers in the elementary stage, specifically teachers of the Glorious Qur’an for the third elementary grade.

The sample of the study consisted of (8) teachers.

The results showed that the methods of indoctrination, repetition, recitation and memorization are among the most appropriate methods for teaching the Glorious Qur’an among teachers of elementary grades.

The results showed that the most used techniques were direct teaching, indirect teaching, enthusiastic technique, and competitive technique.

In light of these findings, the study recommended developing a training program for teachers of elementary grades in the methods and techniques of teaching the Glorious Qur’an.
