Abstract EN

This research studied the phenomenon of "misery "which was addressed by different poets over the centuries in general.

This research focused the study of this phenomenon in Andalusian poetry in particular.

The study consisted of six dimensions: Misery of the people of Andalusia, most notorious misers, poets’ position on misery, imagery of misery, advocation for generosity and call for asceticism As for the artistic aspect, it consisted of three dimensions: Poem layout, language and style and artistic imagery, The study adopted the historical method in detecting most notorious Andulsian misers.

The descriptive analytical method was followed in the study of the poems.

The study revealed several outcomes mainly that most misers were wealthy and influential.

Ibn Abed Rabbo, a modern poet, wrote extensively about misery.

They introduced several innovative similes and metaphors in depicting misery and misers.
