Abstract EN

The study aims to form a vision on how to activate networking among orphanages to improve orphans’ quality of life.

To achieve this, a questionnaire was given to members of Non-governmental organizations (NGO) and orphanages in the Riyadh region., the participants included 88 NGO workers.

The results revealed the existence of reciprocal relationships among NGOs working in the field of orphan care, however that relationship does not amount to networking, joint work, or knowledge sharing.

NGO workers showed positive attitudes toward networking and good awareness of the requirements to activate it.

The study explored the potential obstacles from the workers point of view, which included the absence of accurate databases on organizations in orphan care, a lack of funding sources for the network, poor communication with other organizations, centralization in work administration and a lack of relevant experience.

Based on these findings, a proposal was made for a network in the field of orphan care.

It depends on activating electronic networking, including building databases at the network level that allow the exchange of information and training social workers in e-management applications and remote work.

In addition, the network should include experts from universities who would conduct specialized research to study the reality of orphans, determine their needs and evaluate the services provided to them.

As a result, they would be able to provide high-quality services to improve orphans’ lives.
