The seasonal markets are considered one of the economic features that characterized Bukhara and its surrounding cities, considering Bukhara one of the cities of Islam during the period of the Samanid rule(261-389A.H./874-999A.D).

A number of agricultural, industrial and mineral commodities, which were displayed in weekly and monthly markets during the year, and these markets were led by merchants who came to these markets from neighboring countries, They bring rare goods with them to display in those markets, and take the most valuable commodities that were distinguished by Bukhara and its surroundings, facilitating the existence of transportation routes and the political stability that characterized Bukhara and the countries beyond the river in general.

Without a doubt, the seasonal markets had their own systems that differed from the fixed market systems, although they were organized under the supervision of the Samanid state.
