Abstract EN

The aim of the study was to identify the concept of hate speech and the role of social media in the spread of hate speech from the perspective of Jordanian journalists.

In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analysis method was based, and the design of a study tool (questionnaire) distributed to a sample of Jordanian journalists (300) journalists.

The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: Social networking sites have a role in spreading hate speech, and the spread of hate speech is a source of sedition among the components of society.

In addition, there is a statistically significant impact of social media on the spread of hate speech from the perspective of Jordanian journalists.

The studies recommended working on intensifying awareness about the concept of hate and hate speech, so that people are cautious and avoid such behavior.
