Abstract EN

This study explores how the application of task-based instruction (TBI) in alliance with Web 2.0 tools by means of digital tools and four skill-integrated tasks enhances self-governed learning within an online learning setting.

In this regard, were included into the course.

Data were assembled through post-surveys, midterm reflections and final group interviews.

The findings demonstrate that digital tools and tasks employed enhanced learner independence in many ways.

Organized tasks allowed learners to work individually to produce material, whereas open tasks enabled them to be more independent in examining the understanding of a specific topic via social interaction.

Importantly, instructor scaffolding via modelling and suitable feedback influenced learner self-managed accomplishments in online learning environment.

The current study determines that personal dedication to the course and mental involvement with the learning stuff contributes to the level of learning independence and the degree of social interaction within a wholly online learning environment.
