Abstract EN

This article aims to provide a philosophical reading of the shift from paper book to e-book and the effect it has on the act of reading.

and it is speaking of the role of the discovery of the printing press in the 15th century and its impact on the dissemination of knowledge and the democratization of reading, as well as the impact of e-book, which occurred at the end of the twentieth century, in the emergence of the e-book.

we concluded that the discovery of the printing press contributed to the democratization of reading and the spread of new religious and philosophical ideas that emerged with the renaissance.

and that e-book is part of the continuity of the path of democratization of reading and knowledge that began with the paper book.

we have also found that the reading rituals as well as the faculty of comprehension are different when moving from paper reading to e-reading.
