English Abstract

This study aimed to examine the factors affecting employee‘s turnover in Jordanian pharmaceutical companies listed on Amman Stock Exchange.

The study sample included six pharmaceutical companies, using crosssectional time series data that covered the years (2009-2018).

Data were analyzed using a fixed effect regression model using STATA 15.0 software.

This study tested four independent factors representing financial indicators disclosed in the annual financial statements of pharmaceutical companies (employee‘s productivity rate, company‘s performance (market growth rate), company‘s size, and salary competitiveness rate) to determine their impact on employee turnover in Jordanian pharmaceutical companies.

Contrary to what is expected, the results showed that salary competitiveness in Jordanian pharmaceutical companies does not represent a significant factor for employees in these companies and does not affect the employee's decision to leave work (turnover), and employee‘s productivity positively affects employee‘s turnover.

In contrast, the results of this study supported the widespread belief that company‘s performance and company‘s size negatively affect employee‘s turnover.

The study provided several conclusions, recommendations, and future directions for research.
