Abstract EN

It aims at shedding light on the efforts of Ibn Tulun in the field of Qira’at and its sciences, to introduce researchers and those interested in his status in the field of Qira’at, to explain his transmission chain, his selections, and to authenticate the attribution of some books to him.

I followed the descriptive approach, as it suits the nature of the research.

The most important findings: 1) Ibn Tulun's status in the field of Qira’at and his well-rootedness; through his memorization of the most famous books, his recitation of the ten Qira’at, in addition to his narration of the most famous books from great scholars of his time.

2) Most of Ibn Tulun's works on Qira’at and its sciences are missing, such as; his explanation of Shatibiyyah, and his commentary on the seven letters, and his book on the science of counting verses, which indicates his concern on the field of Qira’at and its sciences that we have not reached yet.

3) Correcting errors in attribution of some books to him, like; Sharh al-Wadiha fi Tajweed al-Fatiha, while the correct author was; Ibn Umm Qasim Al-Muradi, and that Ibn Tulun only copied it, as was copied by others.

4) He enriched the biography of the scholars of his era, including the category of his teachers, his peers and his students.

Research recommendations: 1) A detailed and analytical study of Ibn Tulun's selections in the field of Qira’at and its sciences.

2) Study of his selections in other fields of study, such as Tafsir, grammar, jurisprudence, hadith, and history.

3) Collection of the biography of reciters studied by Ibn Tulun, especially his contemporaries.

4) Intense search for his lost works, especially: the largest index of narratives, the explanation of Shatibiya, his work on the hadith of the seven letters, and his book; at- Tamattu Bi al-Iqran baina Tarajum ash-shuyukh wa al-Aqran.
