Abstract EN

The subject of civic education is one of the strategic educational materials incorporated within the educational curricula, because it contains the contents working on the formation of the individual culturally.

it looks for providing him with knowledge and values and giving him the civic behavior enabling him to live as a good citizen aware of his rights and duties for the sake of living in harmony and to cope with his social environment, in the light of the new local, regional and global changes.

note that civic education has certain objectives distinguishing it from the other subjects.

on the basis of what's mentioned above, through this research paper, we aim to present the desired objectives from civic education, in general, and those of civic education in the Algerian educational system at middle school, in particular.
