Abstract EN

This paper tackles the difficulties faced by four translators rendering figurative language in two shakespearean sonnets and to what extent the translation choices adopted by the translators under study fulfill the adequate intended meaning.

In addition, the study sheds light on the process of translation and how the translators manage to overcome the translation problems in terms of skopos theory in order to fulfill the function the translation is intended for in the target culture and accordingly, the target text's intra-textual coherence and the inert-textual coherence between the source and target texts.
