Abstract EN

The study aimed to pinpointing the most and least common coping styles used by reflective and impulsive students.

The second goal is exploring the relationship between the two cognitive styles ( reflectiveness and impulsiveness) on one hand, and the ways of dealing with stress among the study sample on the other hand.

The third goal is exploring differences in coping styles used by reflective and impulsive students according to the specialty and income level.

The study sample is 270 students in the secondary school, third grade in Makkah.

The researcher used two tools.

They are Shape-Matching Scale for Assessing Cognitive Styles ( reflectiveness and impulsiveness) (devised by Al-Farmawi, 1985) and Styles of Coping with Stress Scale, ( devised by Mona Abdullah, 2002, edited by Al-Hilali, 2009).
