Analysis of the factors influencing job strain : empirical evidence from Saudi Arabia

Abstract EN

This study analyzes the relationship between several factors effecting job strain among university staff.

The study used a regression analysis model based on an extensive review of related literature.

The population and sample were drawn from university staff at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Saudi Arabia.

A questionnaire survey was used to collect data from 177 professor.

The results revealed that a relationship exists between the study variables as well as tolerance of ambiguity and work engagement have an effect on the study variables.

Based on these results, academicians and decision makers at university level, need to clarify lecturers’ activities to promote positive learning environment as well as improve psychological, social and work outcomes.
