Abstract EN

This study aimed to determine the degree to which the third-grade female students in the schools of the northern Ghoor district possess reading comprehension skills in the Arabic language from the female teachers’ point of view.

to achieve the aim of the study.

the researcher prepared a questionnaire that consisted of (30) reading comprehension skills that were distributed equally on the levels of reading comprehension (literal, deductive, and critical).

the results of the study showed that the arithmetic averages of the parameters’ estimates for each level of reading comprehension ranged between (3.53-3.75), where the level of “literal reading comprehension” ranked first with an arithmetic mean (3.75) and a high degree of evaluation, followed by the level of “reading comprehension” inferential with an arithmetic mean (3.59) and a medium degree of evaluation, and a third “critical reading comprehension level”, with an arithmetic average (3.53) and an average degree of evaluation, and the overall arithmetic mean of the tool was (3.62) and a medium degree of evaluation.

the study recommended that the third-grade female teachers should pay attention to improving the level of reading comprehension skills among the third-grade students, especially the skills of criticism, linkage, judgment, analysis and inference, and training the third-grade students on the methods and mechanisms of acquiring reading comprehension skills at its various levels.
