This article deals with the linguistic phenomenon of legal polysemy and its translation.

we are mainly interested in problems related both to the identification of legal terms that have several meanings and to their disambiguation in the context of translation.

our contribution is therefore articulated around two main axes: a theoretical one defining legal polysemy and summarizing its specificities, and another practical one which highlights, through an example taken from the Algerian commercial code, the difficulties of this phenomenon during its transfer from one language to another.
