Abstract EN

The present research aims to prepare a scale of inattention rating among elementary school students and verify its psychometric properties.

the sample comprised (150) male and female students from elementary schools in Qena governorate.

their ages ranged between (8-10) years, with mean age (8.36) and standard deviation (1.03).

the research adopted the inattention rating scale (prepared by the researcher) and the following statistical methods : factor analysis, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, split-half and internal consistency coefficient.

the results of the factor analysis revealed three factors (low capacity for concentration, distracting behaviors, distracting external factors).

the results showed that the inattention rating scale among elementary school students is highly reliable and valid.

thus, it is appropriate for use with a high degree of confidence.
