This study aimed to investigate the direct and indirect impact of managing green human resources on improving the sustainable performance of Yemeni pharmaceutical companies through the development of environmental knowledge and green behavior among employees.
The research methodology used a descriptive approach to clarify the characteristics of the research problem.
A survey was used to gather a sample of 271 employees from the pharmaceutical industry in the governorate of Sanaa.
There were 191 valid surveys, accounting for 70% of all distributed surveys.
The findings revealed a direct and positive relationship between the practice of managing green human resources and improving their sustainable performance.
The findings also revealed that employees' environmental knowledge and green behavior significantly moderate the relationship between the practice of managing green human resources and improving their level of sustainable performance.
According to the study, the management of the considered companies should focus on increasing the use of green human resource management practices, as it plays an important role in developing employees' environmental knowledge as well as increasing the performance level of green behaviors, which improves the company's sustainable performance.
Finally, it has the potential to improve the ability of the companies under consideration to survive, grow, and differentiate in the marketplace.
