Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the most important teaching competencies required for teachers in the first year of primary school, from the point of view of teachers, in the light of various variables: Scientific Qualification, Seniority, Number of Years of Teaching for the First Primary Year Section.

The study sample consisted of 56 teachers and eight supervisors.

To collect information, a five-dimensional questionnaire consisting of 78 items was designed, honesty and persistence factors were performed and applied in the field.

The results showed that there is an agreement among teachers on the importance of having the school competencies contained in their teaching tool, and that there are no differences between teachers and supervisors in their ranking of these competencies.

The results showed also that teachers were aware of these competencies regardless of their scientific qualification and seniority and the number of years of teaching for the first year of primary education.
