Abstract EN

The current research aimed at identifying the research orientations as reflected in the topics of master's and doctoral thesis in the colleges of education for early childhood and child education departments in Egypt in the period of 2011 to 2021, and determining the methodological designs that these theses used and the samples employed.

besides, the current research aimed at presenting a future vision for developing the master's and doctoral theses in light of the developments and updates in the specialization of kindergarten curricula and programs.

for this purpose, a sample of 131 theses from master's and doctoral degrees was reviewed.

the current reality of the orientations of master's and doctoral theses in the specialization of childhood curricula and programs revealed that there was a diversity in research topics but with significantly different percentages.

the results demonstrated that the percentage of topics related to scientific concepts was the most popular orientation by 14%, and other topics ranged between 5% for social and ethical issues to 0.7% for various topics.

in addition, most theses followed the experimental research method by 90%.

the theses also directed towards the use of normal children samples by 87%, while the research varied in the use of different old and new learning strategies.

a future vision was presented to develop research plans for the specialization of kindergarten curricula and programs in the colleges of education for early childhood and child education departments considering the results of the research.
