Abstract EN
Producing competent and appropriate college level learners who would be able to interact communicatively in natural linguistic interactions is the main aim of the model in the current study.
Investigating Iraqi EFL learners, the researcher suggested a procedure of five sequenced stages: raising awareness, analysis, execution, reflecting, and inoculation followed by assessment procedure.
Hence, they are referred to as (RAERI).
The main pivot and focuses include: turn-taking system, repair mechanism, intersubjectivity, adjacency pairs, topic management and sequential organization that make the phases: (opening, centering, pre-closing, and closing).
Further issues are tackled such as socio-cultural norms likes greeting in openings, speech acts like invitation and apology, leave-taking in closing, assessments, added to the paralinguistic techniques: body language, prosody, silence, and response tokens.
Moreover, social and cultural aspects of English conversation and their function are prominent focuses in the research.
