This study is an attempt to extrapolate the function of metaphor in achieving semantic displacement, taking it from the rule of imam Ali-may god bless him-based on its applied aspect, shedding light on the concept of semantic displacement and its representation ancient and modern Arabic linguistic thought, as well as a term coming from western culture in particular.

shift in general is the focus of stylistic studies based mainly on the idea of transgression and violation of the norms and standards in order to achieve both aesthetics and surprise, and since the-shift-was achieved in the structure and semantics, and our reliance on this was the research trend to talk about the metaphor as it is the most accomplished mechanism ; it was hidden and evident at the same time, so it is an effective tool in deciphering discourse and clarifying its secrets, especially since the modern view of it has added an intellectual color to it and brought it from being a graphic image aimed at beautifying and improving discourse, to counting it as a knowledge tool.
