Abstract EN

History is one of the most important academic subjects that help to form the learner, due to the educational functions and values that it carries that will contribute to the development of many aspects of his personality, whether in terms of knowledge, methodology, or in terms of promoting positive attitudes and values of citizenship.

hence, our choice of the subject of this study was an attempt by us to monitor and explore the functions of educational history and its role in consolidating citizenship in the qualifying secondary stage.

in order to deal with the elements of the topic within a systematic structure, the research was divided into a methodological approach, two theoretical chapters and a practical one, as the entrance was devoted to the methodological aspects, while the first chapter dealt with the theoretical aspect through which we worked to demonstrate the importance of history and its educational roles in inculcating the values of citizenship among the learner.

and enabling him to acquire the cognitive and methodological tools that help him in practicing historical thought and saturating it with positive attitudes and behaviors, as for the second chapter, it was for the didactic practical side, which tried to monitor this role at the level of seasonal practice, whether through analyzing the official educational discourse expressed in the curricula of the secondary stage qualification and access to monitoring the representations of teachers of the social subject regarding the role of history in consolidating the values of citizenship.
