The paper deals with the economic importance of seaports in enhancing foreign trade opportunities, because of their economic importance that contributes to the flow of many investments to the countries of the region, and creates a state of competition between the ports and each other.

the problem of the paper was represented in a central question, which is whether the seaports have an economic importance that promotes foreign trade opportunities? the paper aimed to identify the concept of seaports and their types with reference to the port of port sudan, and to maximize mutual benefits in economic aspects through foreign trade between the countries of the region, and to highlight the economic importance of seaports in promoting foreign trade opportunities.
