Abstract EN

This study aimed at investigating the level of awareness of science teachers of the principle of (less is more) or (teach less, learn more) in teaching scientific concepts, and its relation to gender, educational qualification and educational experience variables.

To achieve the objective of the study, a questionnaire consisted of (35) items was used, and its validity and reliability were verified.

The study sample consisting of (80) male and female teachers in basic schools in the Capital Governorate in Kuwait state.

The results showed that the level of awareness of science teachers of the principle of (less is more) in teaching scientific concepts, or (teaching less, learning more) among the study sample members was average, i.e., more than half Teachers (51.43%) have an average level of awareness of (less is more), which means that they practice excessive science education.

The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of awareness due to gender and educational qualification, while it was found that there was a statistically significant difference attributed to educational experience in favor of teachers with less experience.

In light of the results and their discussion, some recommendations were made regarding raising the awareness of science teachers about the concept of less is more .
