Abstract EN

The current research aimed to improve verbal and non-verbal communication in autistic children.

Sample consisted of (10) autistic children (8 boys, 2 girls), aged between (6-12) years and IQ ranged (65-75) degree on Stanford- Binet Scale, fifth edition (Revised Version) (Abd-al Samie, 2017), autistic children with mild disorder on the Autism Rating Scale (Abd-al Samie, 2014), and who got the lowest scores on Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication Scale (validated by the researcher), at Dr.

Ahmed Abd Allah Sabrah Center in Mansoura City, Dakahlia Governorate.

Tools are: Stanford- Binet Scale, fifth edition (Revised Version), Autism Rating Scale, and Verbal/ Non-Verbal Communication Scale, and Sun-Rise Program (validated by the researcher).

Results revealed statistically significant differences between the Scores mean ranks of the experimental and control groups in the post- test on the Verbal/ Non-Verbal Communication Scale in favor of the experimental group.

There were statistically significant differences between scores mean ranks of the experimental group in the pre and post tests on verbal/ non-verbal communication Scale in favor of the posttest and there were no statistically significant differences between the scores mean ranks of the experimental group in the post and follow - up tests on Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication Scale.

Results also showed high effect size of the Sun-Rise Program in improving verbal/ non-verbal communication in the experimental group.

The researcher recommends early intervention using Sun-Rise Program with autistic children to improve their verbal and non-verbal communication.
