Abstract EN

This research addresses the biography of Sheikh Muhammad Saeed Al-Hami, the sharia scholar: the jurist, the historian, and the literary poet who witnessed the fall of the Ottoman period, and the beginning of the establishment of the Emirate of Transjordan.

Despite the fame, scientific and moral heritage that he attained in his time, he is rarely mentioned in books like those which chronicle the establishment of the emirate and the history of Jordan.

Only passing references are cited in these references.

His poems are still recited by people till now.

Some of his sayings are still valid among the people as proverbs.

Due to the scarcity of available references, the researcher has collected what he could from various basic sources written in the author’s handwriting or at his time.The research was able to draw a clear picture of this influential figure from his birth to death.

He relied on trusted sources, to investigate a number of issues related to his life, and to let researchers know much about him, starting from the biography of this sheikh and his manuscript writings, and their whereabouts, which are still waiting till now for someone to investigate and take care of them.
