Abstract EN

This research deals with the study of the Haredi sect, one of the most important Jewish sects belonging to the ultra-Orthodox trend.

We studied it in terms of definition and origin as a first topic, and its position on Zionism and the state as a second topic; It shows the duality of Haredi positions that (oscillated) varied between rejection and acceptance, this duality that stemmed from the rejectionist theoretical intellectual framework, and the realistic practical framework that was characterized by rejection at times and acceptance at other times, and even extended to cooperation in many times.

These positions were represented in The main themes are; Rejection of immigration to and settlement in Palestine, as well as boycotting political activity by not participating in elections, refusing to submit to military service, and finally the independence of the Haredim with a private education sector.
