Abstract EN

This study investigated six dimensions of servant leadership behavior (SLB) and their correlation; and effect on the quality of work life (QWL) for employees of the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security in the Gaza Strip.

The study followed the descriptive analytical approach, whereby a comprehensive survey of the civil sector employees in the ministry with supervisory positions numbered (227) employees, while 192 questionnaires were analyzed.

The study concluded that the SLB was prevalent, and it was found that all of its dimensions are correlated significantly to QWL, which was at an average level.

However, only the dimension of "emotional healing" had significant effect on QWL.

The study recommended to reinforce the SLB among employees because of its role in improving the QWL, and reducing other styles that tend to centralize, as well as involving workers in decision-making.

Besides, enhancing trust among subordinates through clear policies that would achieve effective participation in achieving the ministry’s goals, as well as increasing attention to the ambition of workers, addressing personal problems, and developing skills by understanding psychological and personal needs in line with establishing a balance and compatibility between them and the pressures and requirements of work.
