Abstract EN

The aim of the current research is to reveal the effectiveness of a training program based on (ISTE) in the development of the technological teaching competencies and the trend towards them among social studies teachers in Gaza, The researchers followed the descriptive approach in designing and preparing the training program, and the quasi-experimental approach with a pre- and post-test design for one group in achieving the objectives of the training program, They also used mixed research (quantitative / qualitative) to collect data from the study sample consisting of (30) male and female teachers in Rafah educational area, then A questionnaire was designed to determine the technological teaching competencies to be developed.

The researchers used a test to measure the technological cognitive aspects, and an attitude scale towards employing technology during teaching.

The study showed that there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of social studies teachers in testing the technological cognitive aspects pre and post the application of the training program, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the level of social studies teachers’ attitude towards technology employment, Also the training program had an effectiveness of more than (1.2) according to the percentage of Black's gain ratio, this indicates that the training program is effective and educationally acceptable in developing teaching competencies and employing technology.

The research came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: drawing the attention of education officials in Palestine to the need to raise the level of social studies teachers with technological skills in the light of recent developments, and to encourage the use of technology tools, means and techniques during learning face to face or E-learning alike.
