Abstract EN

This study aimed at showing the importance the city of Jerusalem during the era of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi and its liberation from the Crusaders' dominance in the year 583 AH / 1187 AD.

It highlights his role in restoring the Arab and Islamic features of the Islamic sanctities, his administrative and military accomplishments, and the reorganization of the population groups in Jerusalem.

The study concluded that the city of Jerusalem enjoyed stability and calm during the era of Salah al-Din, and witnessed an activity in the urban, scientific and cultural movement, and an increase in its population; especially after the Ramla peace treaty.
