The human capital is of great importance in the global economy.

It has become one of the most important elements to invest in, and this is what made companies seek to invest in and benefit from it, in a way that provides them with opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage and continue their activities.

This study aims at investigating the impact of investing in human capital on enhancing the competitive performance of the economic company by studying the case of the Electricity and Gas Distribution Company in the state of Illizi.

A questionnaire was prepared and distributed to the employees, and the data were processed using the SPSS program.

the study adopted the analytical and descriptive methods and the results of the study were: Human capital is one of the most important means of enhancing competitive performance in modern companies or organizations, and these companies or organizations do need to resort to investing in human capital in order to support the performance enhancement process as the human competence allows achieving the comprehensive view of the company, by diagnosing its internal and external factors.
