Abstract EN

This research deals with the study of the impact of job satisfaction on job immersion among secondary school teachers in municipality schools in east Jerusalem.

the study also seeks to identify statistically significant differences between teachers' responses about the level of job immersion in their schools due to the variables of gender and years of service.

the study relied on the descriptive correlative approach to achieve the aim of the study, and the study tool was a questionnaire used to collect data and information.

the study population consisted of all secondary school teachers in the municipality schools in the city of east Jerusalem, numbering (780) male and female teachers distributed into (27) secondary schools in east Jerusalem.

the study was applied to a random, sample of (255) male and female teachers, including (99) male teachers and (156) female teachers from the municipality schools in the city of east Jerusalem.

the study concluded that the degree of job satisfaction and the level of job immersion came to a medium degree, and there was an effect of job satisfaction with its dimensions (nature of work-wages and rewards-self-realization-belonging to the profession) on job immersion.

the results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the study sample’s average estimates of the level of job immersion due to the gender variable, and the presence of statistically significant differences about their estimates of the level of job immersion due to the variable of years of service.

in light of the study results, the researcher recommended the need to increase material and moral support for teachers by increasing annual rewards and allowances to meet the needs and aspirations of teachers in order to improve their job satisfaction and enhance job immersion among municipality school teachers.
