Abstract EN
The aim of revealing the effect of having a child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder on the family's quality of life in light of the Corona pandemic.
The study sample consisted of 8 mothers of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, the research sample was made up of different nationalities, and the children's ages ranged from 3 to 10 years.
The researchers used a qualitative approach to collect data, and one of the qualitative research methods used was the interview technique.
The study concluded that many mothers of children experienced psychological stress, anxiety, and depression, and that there was an increase in violence and aggression, as well as changes in screen use and eating habits, a low academic and cognitive level, an increase in movement and activity, an increase in the stigma of illness and criticism, a decrease in outside community support and social relations surrounding the family, despite an increase in family bonding.
Furthermore, a decrease in the availability of domestic labor.
The study also discovered that mothers face numerous challenges, including limited access to distance learning.
Children who spend the majority of their time inside the house, a lack of support and assistance for their children, frequent criticism, and a lack of psychological support and guidance to guide them and relieve stress.
