The main tenet of this article is to highlight the paramount importance of contrastive rhetoric (CR) studies in addressing SL students writing problems and difficulties.

it also aspires to cast light on the focal role that CR plays in suggesting potential solutions and indispensable pedagogical recommendations to alleviate if not get rid of SL writing deficiencies, meanwhile, assisting struggling writers to conform to the norms of the language under which they write their compositions.
