The study aims to measure the impact of Investment in human capital on economic growth and the extent of its contribution to bringing about the process of economic convergence of North African countries (Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya and Egypt) as a sample on Arab countries during the period (1980-2020), and to test the extent of the importance of human capital.

As a variable explaining economic growth, and its potential to help reduce the income gap between countries and the occurrence of the process of economic convergence, we tested the hypothesis of economic convergence Using the dynamic panel data analysis.

The study found a refusal to accept the hypothesis of economic convergence and that the North African countries suffer mainly from a primary shortage in their human, financial and technological stocks that prevented their development from improving and achieving their balance.

So, economic growth is an endogenous process that depends only on activating and stimulating a set of internal factors, not external ones, the most important of which Humanity by investing in education.
