In order to combat child trafficking at the national level, countries have criminalized it in their criminal legislation, among them the Algerian legislator, who completed ordinance 66-156 which includes the penal code, with a fifth bis section entitled "trafficking in persons".

while at the international level, several international agreements have been concluded in this regard, the most important is protocol to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons especially women and children, supplementing the united nations convention against transnational organized crime (2000), in addition to the efforts of the united nations and other international and regional organizations.

however, the fight against child trafficking remains weak, while the phenomenon continues to intensify.
