Patrimony occupies an important place in Arab-Islamic culture.

it promises the status of the poetic and unconscious memory of the Arab human being.

the knowledge that guides his path to know the present and what exists, or what the future will be.

this led some Arab novelists to employ patrimony in the novel with the aim of generating new connotations in the fiction experiment and recreating creativity, as well as expanding the circle of thought about the spirit of history and the dimensions of human experience.

this study seeks to identify the level of employing heritage in the novel "a small death" by Saudi writer Mohammed Alwan, who dived into Arab heritage.

he was able to monitor the cultural and cultural diversity of a time when a Sufi philosopher and her elder "Muhyiddin ben Arabi", as well as to deploy his silent intellectual, civilizational, religious, cultural and other heritage.
