Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the obstacles of applying strategic planning at the University of Jadara as perceived by its faculty members.

The survey method was adopted.

The sample consisted of 106 faculty members.

Results revealed that the degree of identifying obstacles of applying strategic planning at the University was medium, and there were statistically significant differences in the responses of the study sample regarding such issue that can be attributed to the academic rank level (professor, associate professor, assistant professor), in favor of both the academic ranks of professor, associate professor.

Statistically significant differences existed, as well, to be attributed to years of experience less than 5 years, 5 to 10 years, and more than 10 years in favor of more years of experience more than 10 years.

Based on the results, the study recommended that the university leaders should pay attention to such trend, by adopting and implementing strategic planning, and work to remove obstacles regarding its application, to be able to predict, manage future changes, and challenges.
