Abstract EN

This study aimed to reveal the degree to which students of the Department of Qur’anic Studies practice the contemporary basic teaching competencies for teaching Islamic education.

Given the nature of the study, the researcher relied on the descriptive analytical approach, and the researcher prepared the study tool, which is a questionnaire consisting of (30) paragraphs, divided into three areas: the field of lesson preparation, the field of lesson implementation, the field of lesson evaluation, and the validity and reliability of the tool were verified.

The study population consisted of all students studying in the fourth stage in the departments of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the Holy University of Karbala, who numbered (400) male and female students, for the academic year 2021- 2022.

The fourth stage consisted of (45) male and (75) female students, who were chosen intentionally.

To reveal the results of the study, the researcher used percentages, frequencies, and the statistical bag for educational sciences (spss), including the Pearson correlation coefficient.

The study showed that the field of lesson preparation was highly rated with an arithmetic average of (3.70), while the areas of lesson implementation and evaluation had a medium rating and an average of (3.45) and (3.58), respectively, and a number of recommendations were made.
