تناولت هذه الدراسة الجذور التاريخية لمسألة الزمن من حيث التطورات المختلفة للعصور والحضارات اذ انها لا تهمل العنصر الزمني بل ادركت حقيقته واهميته، فكان الزمن في العصر الجاهلي صوره مختلفة بعض الشيء عن العصور التالية فكان الزمن يتسم عندهم بالخصوصية ويجسد جوانب الحياة العريية القديمة ومظاهرها متمثلا بالأيام والاحداث الكبرى التي عاشها العرب في اغوار الجزيرة العرب وارتبط مفهوم الزمن بفكر الشاعر الجاهلي الذي عبر عنه بالدهر وما يحتويه من تقلبات واحداث وغموض ومخاوف، فزمن الشاعر هو زمن العصر الأسئلة التي وحركته والهدف من الدراسة والبحث وكيفيه معالجه الزمن عند الشاعر الوأواء ومن تطرح نفسها حول هذا الجانب هي : ١- كيف نظر الشاعر الوأواء للزمن .
٢ - لماذا مثلت مفردتي الليل والصباح عند الشعر الوأواء تمثيل واسعا في ديوانه.
لقد تمت معالجه الزمن عند الشاعر الوأواء من خلال مواقف واحداث اثرت على نفسية الشاعر وشكلت حافزا لاستدعاء الكلمات التي نظم بها قصائده فهو اشار الى زمن الخطوب والمعارك وما تبعه من الام واحزان على فقدان الاصدقاء والأحب وما تبعها من خسائر من خسارة لقومه واهله ومن هذا نجد ان نفسية الشاعر تأثرت بانعكاسات الزمن واحداثه ومواقفه.
وكان الليل الطويل له شأنا، عند الشاعر حيث اشار اليه واستخدمه في شعره في مواقف كثيره كانت واضحة في قصائده وقد اعتمدت في بحثي هذا المنهج التحليلي في دراسة الزمن النسبي واهميته في شعر الوأواء الدمشقي وتسليط الاضواء على تشبث الشاعر بالزمن النسبي المتمثل بالليل الطويل وما ينطوي عليه من مشاعر واحاسيس تحملتها ذات الشاعر، وإشارته ايضا الى زمن نسبي اخر متمثل بالفجر والصباح.

This study dealt with the historical roots of the issue of time in terms of the various developments of the ages and civilizations, as it does not neglect the time element, but rather realizes its truth and importance.
the great thing that the Arabs lived in the valleys of the Arabian Peninsula, and the concept of time was linked to the thought of the pre-Islamic poet, who expressed it in the age and what it contains of fluctuations, events, ambiguities and fears.

How did the poet al-Awaa view time? 2.Why did the words “night” and “morning” appear so widely in his poetry? the poet’s time has been dealt with through situations and events that affected the poet’s psyche and formed an incentive to recall the words with which he organized his poems.
the psyche of the poet was affected by the repercussions of time, its events and its attitudes.
the long night was important to the poet, when he referred to it and used it in his poetry in many situations that were clear in his poems.
of the feelings and feelings that the same poet endured, and he also referred to another relative time represented by the dawn and the bright morning described by the poems of wailing and how it is related to the beauty and magic of nature and the beauty of the mirror.
