The study aimed to discover whether there is a need for a third party to assist the student in settling his disputes.

recognize their characteristics; knowing the goals of the student's resort to a third party; find out whether the presence of a third party specialized in mediation is necessary in school; it was conducted on a sample of middle school students (state of Tizi Ouzou), (130 students); a data collection form prepared by the researchers was used., the study found: the existence of a need for a third party to settle disputes among students; the people are the parents, brothers, teachers; these people are honest, understanding; and trust; students resort to a third person to settle their conflicts; obtain social support; and gain trust and sympathy.

the level of students' need for a mediator is high.
