Abstract EN

Social skills deficits are a prominent characteristic of children with autism spectrum disorder, limiting their ability to develop social relationships.

this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a proposed training program for developing social skills and to evaluate its practical and clinical significance.

the program was tested on a purposive sample of n= 18 children who were divided into two groups: a control and an experimental group that underwent treatment according to the experimental design conditions.

after comparing the pre-and post-measurement, the study found that the training program was statistically significant with a p< 0.001 which exceeded the significance level of a= 0.05.

the program demonstrated practical effectiveness, as evidenced by Mcguigan's gain ratio a, as well as clinically significant based on the RCI value.

the program also contributed on the development of social skills in the study sample.
