Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the level of knowledge of Physical geography of Palestine, of students of the faculties of Arts and Education in Islamic University in Gaza for the academic year 2008 \ 2009, and to determine the impact of variables of sex, college, course and study of geography of Palestine, and the academic rate at the same level.

A test of 27 paragraphs was designed to be containing multiple-choices , and the paragraphs focused on the four themes (location, surface, water, and climate).It was confirmed by validity and reliability testing of scientific and statistical methods appropriate to do so.

The Test was applied on 1301 students by 22% of the students of the faculties of Arts and Education, enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2008/2009.

The findings were disappointing whereas the level generally drops to 56% of the sample individuals , meaning that the class did not reach the level of the test, 60%, the study showed statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05).

The level of knowledge of the geography of Palestine was referred to natural variables: sex, college, course and study geography of Palestine, and the academic level, while some sub-themes did not show the same significance, in light of this, some recommendations have been presented.
